This is probably the best $40.00 California Cabernet Sauvignon I've tasted in a long while. It is neither overly alcoholic nor overly concentrated, with a sense of place and some charm. Well Done!
In 2011 Philippe Bascaules of Chateau Mârgaux became Inglenook's General Manager. In 2016, after spending five years at Inglenook, Bascaules was invited to return to Chateau Mârgaux after Paul Pontallier had sadly passed away. He subsequently designed a schedule that allowed him to continue to oversee operations at Inglenook as its Director of Winemaking. Bascaules stated that his goal has been to produce the best possible wines as expressions that faithfully convey the estate's terroir through rigor, intellectual honesty, and instinctive passion.

A dense, succulent wine, the 2015 Cabernet Sauvignon captures all the raw power and density of the year. The 2015 is just starting to soften, but ideally it needs another few years in bottle to be at its finest. Readers should expect an especially opulent style, and yet the 2015 has more than enough depth to drink well for another 15+ years or more. -- Antonio Galloni â Vinous Media
Aromas of blackberry, chocolate and chili follow through to a full body, tight and chewy tannins and a linear finish. Shows polish and class. A blend of 92% cabernet sauvignon, 6% cabernet franc, 2% merlot. Very well done for the vintage. Try in 2020 but already attractive. James Suckling
Blended of 88% Cabernet Sauvignon, 6% Cabernet Franc, 5% Petit Verdot and 1% Merlot, the 2015 Cabernet Sauvignon is deep garnet-purple colored and features a boisterous nose of blueberry pie, blackcurrant cordial and Black Forest cake with suggestions of chocolate mint, potpourri, baking spices and cedar chest. Full-bodied and concentrated in the mouth, it has a solid frame of chewy tannins and just enough freshness to lift the densely packed fruit to a long finish. 7,034 cases produced. The 2018 Cabernet Sauvignon Reserve is a barrel sample blended of 78% Cabernet Sauvignon and 22% Petit Verdot, expected to age 20 months in 50% new French oak. It has a very deep purple-black color and is still very youthful on the nose, offering boisterous aromas of molten chocolate, licorice, blackberry pie, jamon di iberico, marionberry, cedar and sweet oak spices with a mineral streak and a whiff of blackcurrant bud. The palate is medium to full-bodied and silky smooth, with luscious fruits well-tamed by mineral and savory notions. It has very finely grained tannins and fantastic freshness, finishing very long and nuanced. Erin Brooks â The Wine Advocate
