Still with green tints but now a bit of lemon with the lime. Sheltered from the wind and sunny at both ends of the day, so now the first to be picked in St-Aubin. Two plots of old vines, 55 and 60 years old. Gorgeous racy fruit here set in a wealth of ripe apple, with a fine thread of acidity, beautifully concentrated and very long. The 2017 Saint-Aubin En Remilly 1er Cru matures in 30% new oak, feels very primal on the nose, not quite expressing the terroir with the clarity of its peers, at least at the moment. The palate is showing more promise. The acidity is nicely judged, there is a fine bead of acidity, harmonious with a touch of ginger emerging towards the finish. It will need a couple of years in bottle just to address what I suspect will be a light reduction. Neal Martin - Vinous Media
