The 2019 vintage, in any case, is a great success, achieving both impressive quality and consistency, and these wines come warmly recommended.

Burgundy is complicated - that much we know! There are producers of White Burgundy that seemingly can perform miracles in pretty well any vintage. Team Henri Boillot is one of those miracle workers. 2019 was a long warm vintage and the wines are concentrated, but the Boillots still maintain acidity and freshness that is essential for good white Burgundy.

The 2019 Puligny-Montrachet 1er Cru Clos de la Mouchère was showing superbly, unfurling in the glass with scents of pear, citrus oil, orange blossom, dried white flowers, toasted nuts and iodine. Medium to full-bodied, layered and multidimensional, it's concentrated and textural, with tangy acids, chalky extract and a long, saline finish. William Kelley - The Wine Advocate

The Clos de la Mouchère is a domaine monopole of nearly 4ha. The vines date to before the Second World War and have not been replanted since. It is located midslope and consistently provides a lovely wine of exquisite balance and elegance. Here the accent is on ripe apple, spice and buttery aromas. The texture is broad and rich, but superbly elegant and well balanced. The finesse of the results in such a warm year are reassuring. Charles Curtis MW - Decanter

Produced from purchased grapes, the 2019 Corton-Charlemagne Grand Cru is serious and structured, enforcing a change of pace after the series of Puligny-Montrachet grands crus. Mingling notes of pear and citrus oil with hints of toasted bread, white flowers and praline, it's medium to full-bodied, satiny and chalky, with palpable structuring dry extract and tangy balancing acids. William Kelly - The Wine Advocate

Purchased fruit from three parcels – one each from the villages of Ladoix-Serrigny, Pernand-Vergelesses and Aloxe-Corton. It is fermented and aged in 350L barrels, 20-50% new depending on the lot. The aromas begin with a distinct citrus note on the attack, but broaden on the palate with a nutty richness that is truly rewarding. The texture is luxurious, but the wine never loses its lovely freshness, which carries it through to a lingering finish.  Charles Curtis MW - Decanter

The Corton-Charlemagne is supplied in grapes from the Ladoix and Pernand-Vergelesses sectors. Pale lemon and lime, with a striking nose, more reductive than toasty. The fruit is explosive on the second half of the palate, really standing out, a near perfect expression of Corton minerality and offering exceptional length. Tasted: October 2020 Jasper Morris - Inside Burgundy

2019 Henri Boillot Puligny les Combettes 1er Cru

Fruit purchased from a 0.45ha parcel within Combettes, fermented and matured at Boillot, delivering a wine of intense concentration, with profuse aromas of lemon peel and a saline edge. The wine is incisively fresh and lively on the palate, but there is plenty of fat to balance it out. This shows the quality of the site, which is located mid-slope near the border with Meursault. Drinking Window 2021 - 2029 Charles Curtis MW - Decanter

Another domaine wine, the 2019 Puligny-Montrachet 1er Cru Les Combettes exhibits aromas of pear, orange oil, buttered toast and white flowers. Medium to full-bodied, rich and elegantly enveloping, it's broad-shouldered and concentrated, with lively acids and a long, saline finish.William Kelley - The Wine Advocate

2019 Henri Boillot Puligny les Pucelles 1er Cru

The 2019 Puligny-Montrachet 1er Cru Les Pucelles exhibits aromas of orange oil, toasted nuts, pear and white flowers, framed by a deft touch of new oak. Medium to full-bodied, satiny and enveloping, with an ample core of fruit and bright girdling acids, it concludes with a precise, mouthwatering finish. William Kelley - The Wine Advocate

Purchased fruit from a marvellous site, this comes from 60-year-old vines located next to the Leflaive holding. After a slow fermentation, the wine is aged just over one year in cask (60% new) to give a wine of impressive substance. Initially a bit restrained, it opens up on the palate to show plenty of substance and depth, with a texture that remains silky and luminously fresh, in spite of the extract and ripeness here.Drinking Window 2021 - 2029 Charles Curtis MW - Decanter

2019 Henri Boillot Puligny les Perrieres 1er Cru

94 WA / 92-95 JM

$175.67*/bottle (tariff included)

(Pre-Arrival) Buy Now

The 2019 Meursault 1er Cru Les Perrières has turned out very nicely, offering up aromas of pear, lemon oil, wheat toast and oyster shell. Medium to full-bodied, satiny and chiseled, it's stony and saline, with tangy acids and a long, chalky finish. As is so often the case with this climat, the site dominates the vintage. William Kelley - The Wine Advocate

Medium full yellow. Two new barrels out of the three. Loads of energy yellow plum with some mandarin and grenadine, closer to grapefruit on the palate. There is a fine density of fruit too, but this Perrières does not outrank the best of the other Meursault 1ers Crus from the domaine side. Tasted: October 2020 Jasper Morris -- Inside Burgundy

2019 Henri Boillot Meursault Poruzots 1er Cru

92 WA / 91-93 JM

$153.52*/bottle (tariff included)

(Pre-Arrival) Buy Now

The 2019 Meursault 1er Cru Les Poruzots is fleshy and generous, wafting from the glass with aromas of honeyed orchard fruit, orange oil, buttered toast and praline. Medium to full-bodied, satiny and layered, with lively acids and an enveloping core of fruit, it's a gourmand but nicely balanced white Burgundy. William Kelley - The Wine Advocate

This is one of the few remaining negociant cuvées, outside some of the grands crus. Full yellow with the lightest of green inflections, a very concentrated nose, but not too ripe. Succulent, deep, quite oaky, a bit of candied lemon peel, some spices too. Leaves an attractive tingle at the finish. Tasted: October 2020 Jasper Morris - Inside Burgundy

The 2019 Meursault Village is lovely, mingling aromas of pear, honeycomb, toasted nuts and white flowers. Medium to full-bodied layered and incisive, with lovely cut and concentration, it derives as usual from exclusively domaine holdings in several superior lieux-dits, including Narvaux, En la Barre, Limozin and Clos du Cromin. William Kelley - The Wine Advocate
