With the pace of the campaign now moving into top gear, it is time for one of the most sought after wines of Bordeaux in any good vintage, the 99-100pt Pauillac 2nd Growth Château Pichon-Lalande. Also not to be missed is their "terrific" second wine, 93-94pt Pichon Comtesse Reserve.

We are also delighted to offer another of the legends from Pauillac: 98-99pt Château Lynch-Bages, along with the "terrific" 95 pt Blanc de Lynch.

Finally from Margaux is the 96-97pt Malescot St Exupery that we've slated as an over-achiever for the vintage.

Don't miss this opportunity to secure your allocations at the opening prices.

We've updated our Futures Landing Page to list our Wines of the Vintage, Over-Achievers, and Value Drinkers, while it continues to be updated with new wines daily, and we'll be sending offers on the most compelling wines as they are released...stay tuned!

2020 Pichon Lalande (Pauillac)

GVWM Over-Achiever

98-100 JD / 97-98 JS / 95-97 WA / 95-97 VM / 96 DE

An estate that has been on fire of late, the 2020 Château Pichon-Longueville Comtesse De Lalande is another brilliant wine in a succession of brilliant wines. Revealing a dense purple hue as well as full-bodied aromas and flavors of blac currants, scorched earth, tobacco leaf, and violets, it hits the palate with an expansive, rich, yet pure, precise texture that carries fabulous tannins, perfect balance, and a stacked mid-palate. Based on 77% Cabernet Sauvignon, 17% Merlot, and 6% Cabernet Franc, it's an incredible wine that's going to flirt with perfection and is unquestionably one of the finest, if not the finest, Left Banks in the vintage. Bravo. Tasted twice. - Jeb Dunnuck

2020 Pichon Comtesse Reserve (Pauillac)

GVWM Value Drinker

93-94 JS / 92-94 JD / 91-93 VM / 91-93 WA / 92 DE

The second wine of Château Pichon-Longueville Comtesse, the 2020 Reserve De Comtesse De Lalande is a beautiful wine in the making that certainly tastes like a mini-version of the Grand Vin. Lots of crème de cassis, blueberries, violets, tobacco, and earth all define the nose, and it hits the palate with a forward, medium to full-bodied, supple texture that already begs to be drunk. I love its balance, the purity of fruit is terrific, and the tannins are spot on as well. It ranks as one of the top second wines in the vintage and will have two decades of prime drinking. - Jeb Dunnuck

2020 Lynch Bages (Pauillac)
98-99 JS / 95-97+ JD / 96 DE / 94-96 WA / 94-96 VM

Ultra-classic notes of blackcurrants, freshly sharpened lead pencil, damp earth, and crushed stone emerge from the 2020 Château Lynch-Bages, which checks in as 60% Cabernet Sauvignon, 31% Merlot, 4% Cabernet Franc, and the rest Petit Verdot, all hitting 13.4% natural alcohol and a pH of 3.73 and a massive IPT of 93, which might be the highest in the vintage. Full-bodied and concentrated on the palate, it has brilliant purity of fruit, a layered, building sense of structure, and a great finish. While not austere or closed, this serious Lynch-Bages will need 10-15 years of bottle age to hit maturity and have 40-50 years of overall longevity. - Jeb Dunnuck

2020 Blanc De Lynch Bages (Bordeaux)
95 JS / 94 DE / 92 VM / 90-92 WA

Less of the citrus flavours of recent vintages and more apricot and nectarine stone fruits, taking its cue from Sémillon and Muscadelle. Relaxed and effortless while still maintaining both lift and tension, with a saline wet stone lick on the finish. I tasted the 2019 on the same day, as it had just been bottled, and the 2020 is less of a classic Lynch Bages Blanc, but still utterly delicious, with clear weight and impression through the mid palate. 3.35pH. 50% new oak for six months. Fermentation below 20°C. A yield of 40hl/ha. - Jane Anson, Decanter

This is a 2005 Malescot in the making. And that was stunning. I love the blueberries, chocolate and nuts on the nose and palate. The finish lasts for minutes with so much . Goes on and on. I want to drink this! Wow. - James Suckling
