"This chiseled effort is a relatively powerful MdT and like several wines in the range, possesses a genuinely lovely texture. Recommended."

Sweet spot, Outstanding - Allen Meadows, Burghound

2019 Chablis is pretty special stuff. They are racy and powerful wines, and will most definitely go the distance. I enjoyed a bottle of 2019 Servin Chablis Mont de Milieu recently and it was everything you want Chablis to convey. Don't think that there's a lot of any of it around though - good deals on wines with great press will be expensive and in short supply. Domaine Servin provides us with some of the best values in top-notch Chablis.

Note: from a huge 2.74 ha parcel in Montée de Tonnerre proper and Pied d'Aloup

Tasting note: A discreet but perceptible dose of wood can be found on the cool floral, pear confit, tidal pool and iodine-scented nose. The refined, intense and wonderfully sleek medium weight flavors flash a bracing salinity on the classy, balanced and wonderfully persistent finale. This chiseled effort is a relatively powerful MdT and like several wines in the range, possesses a genuinely lovely texture. Recommended. Sweet spot Outstanding--Allen Meadows, Burghound

The 2019 Chablis Montée de Tonnerre 1er Cru is intense on the nose, showing a little reduction, although that soon blows away to reveal lime, yellow plum and light crushed stone aromas. The palate is fresh on the entry, with more edge than the Vaillons and Vaucoupin that I tasted alongside. Similarly, there is a tang of salinity toward the finish that keeps this Chablis alert and fresh, showing decent persistence on the finish. Very fine. -- Neal Martin, Vinous Media

2019 Domaine Servin Chablis les Clos Grand Cru

92-94 Burghound / 93 Vinous Media
$54.89/bottle (Pre-arrival) Buy Now

Note: from a .88 ha parcel; raised in a mix of 2 to 10-year-old wood

Tasting note: A more generously wooded nose fights a bit with the otherwise pretty and airy aromas of various white flowers, apple, pear and enough Chablis elements to be persuasive. The succulent, rich and dense medium weight plus flavors possess good minerality and vibrancy, both of which infuse the elegant and seriously long finish. This is carrying more wood than I personally prefer but the underlying material appears to be up to the task of integrating it over the next decade.--Allen Meadows, Burghound

The 2019 Chablis Les Clos Grand Cru offers well-defined, focused scents of wet limestone, petrichor and green apples and just a very subtle wild mint note. The palate is well balanced with impressive weight on the entry. This Les Clos really fills the mouth with flavor and then eases off in the second half to deliver more saline, spicy notes. It is not a powerful Les Clos, but it is imbued with a steeliness that I admire. –Neal Martin, Vinous Media

The 2019 Chablis Bougros Grand Cru has a striking nose, one that makes an instant impression with fresh clementine, freshly sliced passion fruit, black currant leaf and a touch of peach skin. The palate is well balanced, with a saline entry, fresh and vibrant, leading to a lightly spiced but persistent finish. I appreciate the way this Bougros fans out. Certainly one of the domaine’s best offerings this vintage. Superb.–Neal Martin, Vinous Media
