The celebrated Grattamacco estate spans over 27 hectares and the vines are 25 years old on average. The vineyards are positioned from 100 to 200 meters above sea level and are certified organic.
A dense and powerful young wine with ripe tannins. Full-bodied, juicy and rich. Striking structure and fruit. James Suckling
The 2018 Bolgheri Rosso is an organic blend of 50% Cabernet Sauvignon, 20% Cabernet Franc, 20% Merlot, 6% Sangiovese and 4% Petit Verdot aged in oak for a brief eight months. Production is an ample 80,000 bottles. This lower-end wine shows more bulk and darkness compared to some of the higher-end Bolgheri Superiore expressions from this producer. However, this wine clearly offers a more immediate and accessible personality with dark cherry, blackberry and more primary intensity. Soft tannins round off the palate. This vintage required extra attention during fruit selection. Monica Larner â The Wine Advocate 91 pts

The 2015 Bolgheri Superiore Grattamacco is big, bold and absolutely stunning. This blend of 65% Cabernet Sauvignon, 20% Merlot and 15% Sangiovese is dark and luscious, with overlapping melodies of tobacco, spice, dark fruit and grilled herb. There is so much depth and power. This vintage is a gem for your cellar, and the wine should award a long aging trajectory for those who have the patience to wait. Some 50,000 bottles were made. Monica larner â The Wine Advocate
What a lovely nose that marries fresh elements of graphite, lead pencil, crushed violets and stones and riper notes of blackberry pie and blueberry cake. Full body, very polished tannins, an unmistakable serving of acidity and a long, mineral finish. A blend of cabernet sauvignon, merlot and sangiovese. Made from organically grown grapes. ICEA certified. Drink in 2022. - James Suckling
Complex cherry, currant, mineral, spice and tobacco aromas signal this serious version. Despite the ripe fruit flavors and sweet tones, this has grip and the potential for development. Hangs together nicely now, in a youthful phase. Shows terrific length. Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Sangiovese. Best from 2022 through 2038. 4,000 cases made, 700 cases imported. - Wine Spectator
Luscious savoury notes that owe a lot to the Bordelais ideal â tobacco, cedar, liquorice, fennel. Excellent fruit power and purity. Long, stately persistence framed by tightly woven tannins â this is one of the best examples from this estate that I can remember. (RH) Richard Hemming MW â JancisRobinson.com
