If there isn't a placeholder for this wine on this year's Wine Spectator Top 100 list, there certainly should be. Other 2018 Cabernet from across the globe that received WS 95 pts include offerings from Schrader, Quilceda Creek, Ornellaia, Solaia, Montrose, and the list goes on.

The vineyard lies next to Yountville's Cemetery. The ghost of George C. Yount is said to have been seen walking up the hillside of these ancient burial grounds, however, one never knows how much wine may have been involved in the sightings.

Coming all from Oakville, it has a classic Cabernet nose of black and blue fruits, green tobacco, cedar pencil, damp earth, and chocolate. It's not over the top and has beautiful varietal character as well as medium to full body, ripe yet present tannins, good overall freshness, and a great finish. This is beautifully done and well worth a case purchase. I'd lean toward drinking bottles over the coming 10-12 years, but I certainly wouldn't be surprised to see it evolve longer. The 2018 Cabernet Sauvignon turned out beautifully. Rich, sumptuous and incredibly alluring, the 2018 will drink well right out of the gate. Dark red fruit, mocha, spice and licorice are some of the notes that build in the glass. I would give it a few years in bottle, or alternatively open it in advance.
