From a 1.37ha parcel in the section of the Clos known as Les Marets Hauts, next to Drouhin-Laroze. Made with a little more than half whole clusters, gentle extraction and two winters in mostly new casks, this is a wine of superb elegance, with a mixture of ripe black and red berry fruit, a silky texture on the palate, along with a fresh, concentrated feel that lasts through the lingering finish. 11 new barrels in 14, 75% whole bunch. Another glowing imperial purple colour. The bouquet is less ecstatic, the wine in the mouth is magisterial. There is a huge intensity of flavour but this 2019 Clos Vougeot stays light on its feet, whole bunch present, but very much maintaining discretion. Very good tension at the finish. Red fruit with a touch of liquorice, this year the Clos Vougeot is challenging the brilliant Grands Echezeaux. Tasted: November 2020 Jasper Morris - Inside Burgundy
Note: from a 1.37 ha parcel of 60+ year old vines situated close to the Château; 75% whole clusters
Tasting note: This too is deftly wooded with an ultra-floral-suffused nose that speaks primarily of both red and dark berries, newly turned earth and a hint of humus. There is excellent volume to the denser and muscular yet relatively refined broad-shouldered flavors that culminate in a youthfully austere, compact and gorgeously long finish. The supporting tannins are dense but admirably fine-grained and while the overall impression is not as classy as that of the Grands Echézeaux, there is a bit more here. Patience is strongly advised. Tasting note: Initially there is a whiff of reduction present though it quickly blows off to reveal ripe if brooding and wonderfully complex aromas of black cherry fruit and warm earth undertones. The rich, full and powerful broad-shouldered flavors also possess outstanding concentration where the dry extract completely saturates the palate on the long and dusty finish where the only nit is a hint of warmth. This is really quite refined as once again the relatively fine-grained tannins contribute significantly toward the sleek mouthfeel. Once again, like its stable mate, this should be capable of aging for a very long time. Drink 2030+ âAllen Meadows, Burghound
The 2015 Clos de Vougeot Grand Cru has a perfumed bouquet with dark cherry fruit, blackcurrant and briary tinged with fine mineralité - hints of cold stone percolating through with time. The palate is medium-bodied with silky smooth tannin, good depth of fruit and crucially a keen line of acidity that maintains the tension. There is a subtle spicy, almost white pepper element to this Clos Vougeot that becomes more accentuated as it gently fans out on the finish. This is a very impressive Clos de Vougeot.âNeal Martin, The Wine Advocate

The 2018 Clos de Vougeot Grand Cru has a gorgeous bouquet of dark cherry fruit, black currant, crushed stone and light iodine aromas, very pure and seductive. The palate is medium-bodied with fine tannins and good acidity, the whole cluster (70%) lending a touch of pepperiness toward a finish that is precise and persistent. Superb. - Neal Martin, Vinous Media
No one would accuse Domaine d'Eugénie of making graceful, delicate Pinot Noirs. Instead, this is a rich, dense, powerful, almost turbo-charged expression of the Clos de Vougeot with layers of tannin, damson and blackberry fruit, scented 85% new wood and some spice and sappy freshness from 60% whole bunches. Serious, ageworthy stuff. - Tim Atkin, Decanter
Here too the nose is quite restrained and requires aggressive swirling to coax the aromas of cool and softly spice black cherry, violet, plum and earth. There is excellent volume and power to the palate coating big-bodied flavors that deliver fine length on the mocha-infused finish that flashes a touch of youthful austerity. This is even a bit more structured than the Grands Echézeaux so I would advise acquiring it with the express intention to exercise at least moderate patience. - Allen Meadows, Burghound
Deep cherry red. Sweeter fruited than the Ãchezeaux and Grands Ãchezeaux, more ripe red fruits. Seductive aromas. On the palate, succulent, chewy with the fruit eating up the oak and the tannins compact and almost chalky in their fine grain, though they are a little more grainy than in the Grands Ãchezeaux. Vibrant and mouth-watering even though the acid is not high, thereâs energy in the tannins. Chewy yet juicy. Intense and full of life. Very persistent. Dry and elegant. - Jancis Robinson
