(40% new oak): Bright dark ruby. Musky aromas of blackberry, spiced plum and Christmas cake; there's something very primary about this. At once juicy, spicy and fairly tight on the palate, conveying an impression of medicinal reserve. Finishes with ripe, toothcoating tannins and very good chocolatey richness.
