(40% new oak): Bright dark ruby. Musky aromas of blackberry, spiced plum and Christmas cake; there's something very primary about this. At once juicy, spicy and fairly tight on the palate, conveying an impression of medicinal reserve. Finishes with ripe, toothcoating tannins and very good chocolatey richness. A hint of pomegranate on the end relieves the wine's blackness of fruit and contributes an element of density. - Stephen Tanzer, Vinous Media
“Strong nose of ripe plum, grilled bread, cloves and blackest of black currants. The tannins hold the stage in this rich wine with notes of blackberries, blueberries, clove and plum on the palate. Medium acidity balances the density of the wine. The long finish persists with plum (flesh and skin) and clove.” -Winery
