A steady stream of broad bubbles, with a powerful nose of biscuit, straw bale, and lemon meringue. Very full mouthfeel on the palate, with well-integrated, subtle apricot, citrus, and aged character. Balanced and complex, with a long finish. Tasted blind. GVWM

Using a point system combining scores from each taster, the Arlaux scored much higher than the other two Champagnes. Judging by the outstanding sample we tasted, we have secured a nice parcel of this small grower Champagne at a fraction of the price of its competitors.

Editors' Choice. Disgorged in 2019, this wine was on its lees for 17 years. That has given this Champagne richness, though it still offers impressive freshness to balance the toasty flavors.
