Perfumed nose, smells rich and inviting. Juicy, supple and clean - this has bite and tang as well as clear depth and concentration. Excellent profile, it has weight but a lovely sleek texture, ripe fruit but cool freshness. It's serious no doubt, with concentration but really delivers a full, bright, juicy, intense and appealing glass of wine with nuance and detail. Great acidity, lovely tang, mineral salty stone notes and long length. Still tense, needs to soften, but this is excellent. Harvest 12-28 September. Yield of 38hl/ha. - Georgina Hindle, Decanter

This is so perfumed and elegant with blue fruit, violets, iodine and sea salt. Lively juiciness here tightened with fine-grained, steady tannins. Umami and crushed stones. Medium body. Delicious. - James Suckling

A blend of 60% Merlot, 35% Cabernet Sauvignon, and 5% Petit Verdot, the 2022 Branas Grand Poujeaux is deep garnet-purple in color. It comes skipping out of the glass with bright, exuberant scents of kirsch, blackberry preserves, and underbrush, plus wafts of violets and Ceylon tea. The full-bodied palate is completely coated with rich black fruit and red berry sparks, framed by ripe grainy tannins and bold freshness, finishing long with a mineral lift. This is impressive! - Lisa Perrotti-Brown, Wine Independent

The 2022 Branas Grand Poujeaux was picked from 12 to 28 September. Matured in 50% new oak, it has a clear-lined, focused bouquet with plenty of red fruit suffused with estuarine scents. It is a more understated Moulis than expected, though not in a negative sense. The palate is medium-bodied with ripe, beautifully-sculpted tannins, vibrant and tensile, with a wonderfully controlled finish. This is a class act from one of the top performers in Moulis-enMédoc. - Neal Martin, Vinous Media

I always love this Moulis, and the 2022 Chateau Branas Grand Poujeaux looks to be terrific. Ripe cherries, assorted blue fruits, leather, and some floral notes all define the aromatics, and it's medium to full-bodied, with ripe tannins and a plush, already hard-to-resist style. - Jeb DunnucDark ruby in colour, edge of violet reflections; this builds up in tannins pretty quickly through the palate, old school but has real charm, good quality. Savoury black fruits, powerful, drives forward through the palate. Hubert de Boüard consultant. 50% new oak for ageing, with 5% in amphora. - Jane Anson, Inside Bordeaux
