Not very intense in colour but we don’t need to worry about that. The nose has a magical fragrance, perhaps due to a higher percentage of whole bunches (40%). There is a nice touch of oak, impressively rounded. Love the density of this, suavely rounded then lifted whole bunches at the back. Low acidity. Jasper Morris – Inside Burgundy
The 2016 Gevrey-Chambertin 1er Cru Clos du Fonteny, a monopole of the domaine, has a beautiful bouquet with dark berry fruit, blackberry and light orange blossom scents. This just blossoms with a couple of swirls, displaying impressive vigor while maintaining detail. The palate is stunning: wonderful focus, so much tension and you can really feel the calcaire on the tensile finish. This represents an outstanding offering from Bruno and it comes highly recommended. Neal Martin – The Wine Advocate
Tasting note: This too is softly oaky with its intensely floral-suffused nose of exceptionally pure and ultra-fresh essence of red berries. The mouthfeel of the equally mineral-driven flavors is quite polished thanks to the fine grain of the moderately dense supporting tannins. This youthfully backward effort will require at least a few years of cellaring as it too is quite tightly wound today. Outstanding – Allen Meadows - Burghound
