Tasting note: This offers a step up in aromatic complexity with its spicy and floral-scented nose of both red and dark cherry, earth and soft tea nuances. There is also excellent volume to the stony, rich and vibrant medium-bodied flavors that terminate in a mildly austere finish that is shaped by dense but fine tannins. This too will require at least some patience and should reward 10+ years of cellaring. Outstanding. Top Value. –Allen Meadows, Burghound
(no hail or frost here in 2015, according to Clair): Medium red. Musky, deeply pitched aromas of raspberry, strawberry and smoky, flinty minerality. Quite taut in the early going, even a bit tough, and not showing the vintage's fleshy side today. But this firmly structured wine finishes with palate-stimulating salinity and subtle length. I would not be surprised if this eventually merited a rating at the top end of my projected range.-- Stephen Tanzer, Vinous Media
