Fine even purple. This has a very gracious, classy red fruit bouquet, a mix of different berries with ripe griotte cherries to the fore. 50% whole bunch vinification is well mastered. No more than medium-bodied, with a fair oak component, yet the fruit is livened up by the stems. The persistence is startling given that this is no more than medium bodied. A magical version. Tasted: November 2018. Jasper Morris – Inside Burgundy
The 2017 Vosne Romanée Les Chalandins is gracious and sensual, not to mention incredibly inviting. Lifted and precise, the Chalandins offers hints of licorice, crushed flowers, rose petal and red berries in an open-knit style that should drink well with minimal cellaring. The 50% whole clusters work well here. Anotnio Galloni – Vinous Media
Here the wood treatment is not subtle though the notes of menthol and wood toast are not so strong as to overshadow the otherwise ultra-fresh and pure essence of highly spiced dark cherry, plum and lavender. The medium weight flavors possess a polished mouth feel thanks to the fine-grained tannins that also shape the velvety and sneaky long finish that is quite firm, indeed even a bit austere. This is a lovely Vosne villages that is clearly intended for long aging even though it's a bit oaky at present so it will need a few years to fully integrate it. Allen Meadows - Burghound
