The domaine's parcel of what is arguably the greatest red terroir on the hill of Corton has produced three magical barrels in 2015. Notes of black raspberry and mulberry mingle with nuances of iron, forest floor and dark spice. This is followed by a palate with striking depth, dimension and authority, framed by abundant supple tannins which assert themselves on the long, mineral finish. One of the wines of the vintage in the Côte de Beaune, deserving at least a dozen years in the cellar to blossom. William Kelley – Decanter Magazine

The 2015 Corton Clos du Roi Grand Cru is a magical wine in the making, opening in the glass with a deep and brooding bouquet of cherries, plum preserve, espresso roast, rich soil, dark chocolate and dried rose petals. On the palate, the wine is incredibly complete and multidimensional, with an ample chassis of fine-grained, chalky tannins, a bright line of acidity, and immense concentration and length. More deep and layered than the Corton Bressandes, this Clos du Roi is also finer-boned and more mineral, its aromas and flavors less wild and "sauvage," and while the wine's considerable structure will demand a decade of bottle age, this will be a benchmark Corton in the fullness of time. William Kelley - The Wine Advocate

A rich, fluid version, boasting black currant, black cherry, chocolate and spice flavors. Muscular and expressive, with mouthcoating tannins lining the finish. This is balanced and shows excellent potential. Best from 2022 through 2038. 18 cases imported. BS - Wine Spectator

Tasting note: A prominently sauvage-inflected nose reflects notes of black cherry, spice and an attractive range of floral characters. The intense, broad-shouldered and tautly muscular flavors also possess copious amounts of dry extract that coats the mouth on the noticeably warm and slightly awkward finish. de Nicolay noted that this borderline massive effort had just been bottled a few days before my visit and thus it's possible that this negatively affected the balance. Allen Meadow - Burghound
