Charles Van Canneyt is the extremely talented winemaker at Domaine Hudelot-Noëllat which is his grandparents property. Charles has been striking out on his own micro-negociant project since the price of land in Burgundy is extraordinary to say the least. He joins famed producers such as Olivier Bernstein, Benjamin Leroux and Lucien Le Moine who purchase grapes and create small lots of very serious Burgundy. Recently, Charles married into the Gagey family of Louis Jadot fame.

The 2015 Gevrey-Chambertin Les Cazetiers is laced with the essence of sweet red cherry, plum, rose petal and exotic spices. Silky tannins add to an overall impression of finesse. Here, too, there is a good balance of ripeness and structure. This is an especially soft, supple style, and yet there is good density and power in reserve.
