Tasting note: The nose was dominated by sulfur at the time of my tasting but even so it was possible to sense the ripeness of the underlying fruit together with pronounced floral elements. The attractively sculpted and notably mineral-inflected middle weight flavors possess better mid-palate concentration as well as fine power on the focused, citrusy and beautifully persistent finish. As it often is, this is the best wine among these 1ers and a wine that should drink well young and with age. Outstanding – Allen Meadows - Burghound
Pale yellow-gold. Aromas of ripe peach and hawthorn. Fat, rich and full for Folatieres and for the vintage but with harmonious acidity giving shape to the flavors of sweet peach, spices and noble herbs. It's hard to believe that this wine weighs in at a modest 12.7% alcohol, following a bit of chaptalization.
