Dark red-ruby. Incredible nose melds black raspberry, licorice, Asian spices, minerals and cocoa powder. Densely packed and powerfully structured but the wine's finesse of texture ensures a magical light touch. Pungent minerality and floral character give the middle palate rare energy for the vintage, belying the wine's 3.75 pH. Finishes savory and extremely long, with late-arriving tannins saturating the sides of the teeth. I find this a bit tighter today than the 2016 version, and indeed Confuron says the tannins here are a bit less ripe. But he's splitting hairs. Offers a compelling combination of sensuality and power. Stephen Tanzer – Vinous Media
Tasting note: This is almost always the domaine's best 1er and so it appears to be again in 2015 with its ultra-floral and spicy nose of red currant and softly exotic Asian-style tea aromas. There is a wonderfully refined and seductive mouth feel to the delicious and vibrant medium-bodied flavors that coat the palate with abundant dry extract, all wrapped in a hugely long finish that is shaped by dense by fine tannins. This is a first-rate Suchots though one that is expressly built-to-age. Outstanding – Allen Meadows - Burghound
Cask sample. Dense and tightly woven. Bitter chocolate character, dark black fruit with a charred note on the finish. Finely grained but requires many years of maturation. (RH) Jancis Robinson.com
