Fantastic energy and length to this young Sauternes, with dried-apple, apple-pie, spice and cinnamon character . Medium body, medium sweetness and a vibrant finish. - James Suckling
Great quality, bright and concentrated, dried apricots, mandain peel, fig, pineapple and candied ginger, with a touch of bitterness and a mouthwatering finish. This is gorgeous, one to look out for. - Jane Anson, Inside Bordeaux
The 2021 Coutet needs time to cohere in the glass, eventually offering scents of dried honey, pressed flowers and quince. It just needs a little more pizzazz. The palate is well balanced with fine acidity and good weight and tension, showing the energy that is slightly lacking on the nose at the moment. Maybe it could benefit from more unctuousness on the finish, but this remains an enjoyable Barsac that will gain complexity with bottle age. - Neal Martin, Vinous Media
Pale lemon-gold in color, the 2019 Coutet sashays out with vibrant lime cordial, lemonade, and grapefruit oil notes followed by suggestions of fresh hay, powdered ginger, and honeyed toast. The palate is rich and decadent with an amazing line of freshness and a very long, spice-sparked finish. -Lisa Perrotti-Brown, The Wine Independent.
Pale gold. Intense but restrained with floral-citrus notes. Palate svelte and textured but with drive and precision. Botrytised sweetness but with a lingering, tangy freshness. Embryonic but good potential. - Jancis Robinson
