This is dense and extremely minerally with crushed-stone and chalk character, as well as walnuts and moss to the blue fruit. It’s full-bodied and chewy with polished tannins that are succulent and round. One of the best young wines from here.- James Suckling

The 2020 Couvent des Jacobins is a blend of 85% Merlot, 10% Cabernet Franc, and 5% Petit Verdot. Deep garnet-purple in color, it waltzes from the glass with showy notes of juicy black plums and crushed blueberries, giving way to fragrant scents of black raspberries, violets, and menthol. The full-bodied palate is spritely and energetic, with plush tannins and a long, perfumed finish. - Lisa Perrotti-Brown, Wine Independent

The 2020 Couvent des Jacobins has a well-defined bouquet with blackberry, blueberry and light floral scents. I admire the delineation and focus, which are pretty nuanced for the vintage. The palate is medium-bodied with fine-grain tannins, classic style and impressive sapidity. Displays a well-structured and persistent finish. Excellent. - Neal Martin, Vinous Media

Scented blackcurrants and black cherries, softly fragrant and delicate. aromas. Juicy and lively on the palate, a nice shot of bright acidity lifts the quite high-toned, sharp raspberry and strawberry fruits with a slightly grainy, grippy texture. There's creaminess and salinity, a wet stone element in terms of flavour nuance and a chalkiness to the tannins. Menthol freshness and some herbal aspects giving both a cooling and spiced touch. Nice overall weight and layering. I love the texture with liquorice touches too. First organic certified vintage. Aged in new oak, 30% new. 225l barrels for 12-15 months. - Georgina Hindle, Decanter
