Sleek, elegant and balanced, sets the pace on the attack and keeps to it. Plenty of well defined and confident black and red berry fruits, and a gloss of smoke. - Jane Anson, Decanter
Based on 95% Merlot and 5% Cabernet Franc harvested all in September and brought up in 60% new French oak, the 2020 Château La Croix Saint Georges should be another outstanding Pomerol in this great vintage for the appellation. Offering loads of cassis and black cherry fruit as well as notes of mulled spices, tobacco, and earth, it’s medium to full-bodied and nicely balanced, with some building chewy tannins and outstanding length on the finish. Given the tannins, 2-4 years of bottle age are warranted, but it should drink nicely over the following 10-12 years or more. - Jeb Dunnuck
A firm, silky wine with some black-olive and berry character. Medium body, fine tannins and a fresh finish. - James Suckling
