Critic Scores, Reviews & Descriptions

The structure remains fairly closed, with the emphasis on floral notes. Elegant raspberry fruits, finessed, crushed stone and slate texture, with gentle peony and smoke aromatics. It suits the style of Armailhac as it was at the time. A year when optical sorting really showed its worth. Harvest September 12 to 28. 2% Petit Verdot completes the blend. Drinking Window 2021 - 2045 - Jane Anson, Decanter

This is a ripe wine with spice, juicy red fruits and a feeling of opulence. Full, fruity and rich, it's a wine for medium-term aging. Drink from 2017. - Roger Voss, Wine Enthusiast

This is fresh and clean with citrus and currant character. Medium body, fine tannins and a delicate finish. A little lean but I like it. Clarity of fruit here. Give it three or four years to soften. Try in 2017. - James Suckling

Bright medium ruby. Subtle, vinous aromas of blackcurrant, sour red cherry, violet and minerals. Sweet and silky on entry, then tight in the middle, showing terrific purity and verve to the flavors of red fruits, sweet spices and flowers. Finishes sappy and lightly saline, with fine tannins and outstanding length. This terrific, perfumed wine is heavily marked by its cabernet franc presence. - Ian D'Agata, VInous Media

A textbook Pauillac, with a core of ripe cassis, cherry compote and blackberry fruit, spiked with iron, singed cedar and tobacco details that should emerge as this melds and softens. Best from 2015 through 2025. - James Molesworth, Wine Spectator
