#16 Wine Spectator Top French Sparkling Wines of 2023
Gold Medal - Drinks Business Best Champagnes of 2021

This entry point to a slightly-under-the-radar Champagne house is a fine example of Brut NV in a dry but fruity style. Using equal parts of Champagne’s three major grapes, Pinot Noir, Chardonnay and Meunier, it has plenty of flavour, from ripe apple to strawberry and citrus, with some appealing notes of honey and brioche, before finishing with a zesty, cleansing edge. - The Drinks Business

This is very dry with apple, praline and pie-crust character. It’s full, layered and gorgeous with a lovely, creamy texture. The base is from the 2017 vintage, one third each of pinot noir, chardonnay and pinot meunier. 41% of reserve from previous years, such as 2016 and 2015. - James Suckling

Apple blossom and graphite aromas lace flavors of Asian pear, blanched almond and lemon curd in this sleek Champagne. Fresh and linear, with a fine, creamy mousse. - AN, Wine Spectator

Open and expressive, the latest NV Brut Classic from Deutz offers up aromas of green pear, peach, pastry cream and flowers. Medium to full-bodied and fleshy but precise, it's elegant and charming, with a seamless profile and considerable immediate appeal. - William Kelley, Wine Advocate

The NV Brut Classic is a pretty, entry-level wine. Warm, generous fruit comes together beautifully in this rich, expansive, mid-weight Champagne. The bouquet, texture and purity of the finish are all first-rate. The Brut Classic is equal parts Pinot Noir, Pinot Meunier and Chardonnay. Like all Deutz Champagnes, it undergoes full malolactic fermentation. This is Lot LB1100D0169, disgorged January, 2009 - Antonio Galloni, Vinous Media

Distinctively Deutz in style with vinosity and verve, this is fresh, elegant and round with a precocious ripeness and good depth. The base is largely the 2015 vintage (50%) with additions from 2013 and 2014 reserve wines. As always, it's an equal blend of Pinot Noir, Pinot Meunier and Chardonnay, sourced from premier cru and grand cru vineyards from the Marne area. - John Stimpfig, Decanter

The elegance of this nonvintage cuvée sums up the style of the house, balancing acidity with a dosage that is just right. The white fruits and tangy edge are refreshing and intense. Drink the bottling now. - Roger Voss, Wine Enthusiast
