Here the nose is not only more expressive but more floral and perfumed as well with its elegant and airy array of highly spiced red currant, blue pinot fruit and exotic tea scents. There is a silky texture to the wonderfully precise, intense and vibrant medium weight flavors that possess stunningly good complexity, all wrapped in a gorgeously persistent and lingering finale. This is clearly impressive but out of all of the wines in the range it is this one and the La Tâche that struck me as being the most backward in terms of their development so my predicted range could very well be overly conservative. The 2013 Romanée St.-Vivant shows off all the signatures of this site, with soaring aromatics, bright, chiseled red-toned fruit and an understated expression of intensity that is all about finesse. A model of precision and nuance, the RSV is one of my early favorites in the range. Clean, saline notes add to a feeling of refreshing vitality. Antonio Galloni – Vinous Media
