Drouhin Laroze Chambertin Clos Vougeot Grand Cru 2019 (750ML)

The 2019 Drouhin-Laroze Clos de Vougeot was completely destemmed this year. It has bouquet of black cherries, raspberry coulis and freshly picked roses. There is a purity here that I admire. The palate is medium-bodied with supple tannins, fleshy and quite corpulent yet retaining definition on the finish, and leaving cracked black pepper on the aftertaste. This could turn out to be one of Drouhin-Laroze's best 2019s.--Neal Martin, Vinous Media

80% new wood. No whole bunches are used as they do not wish to hide the muscular shoulders of Clos Vougeot. Intense purple. There is a huge volume of fruit but with excellent tension behind, a good fruit acid balance, still ripe and of course not showing detail yet. But this stands up tall and should work well.
