Dense purple hugely enthusiastic nose, with class, some stems and perfectly judged fruit ripeness. We had the discussion about blueberry fruit in Clos de la Roche. This fills out nicely behind, this is really distinguished, a great wine in the making. I love the way the stems blend in and there is also an endearing dusting of cocoa powder at the back. Balanced and long. Tasted: November 2019 Jasper Morris - Inside Burgundy
Unfurling in the glass with aromas of sweet berry fruit, dark chocolate, rose petals, orange rind, burning embers and spices, the 2018 Clos de la Roche Grand Cru is full-bodied, layered and muscular, with a deep, concentrated and multidimensional core that's framed by rich, powdery tannins and impressively lively acids. This is a dramatic wine that hasn't yet shut down, but I wouldn't plan on opening bottles for at least a dozen years. William Kelley - The Wine Advocate
