The 2018 Vosne-Romanée Aux Brûlées 1er Cru contains 60% whole cluster. It has a crisp, focused bouquet of vivacious raspberry, morello cherry, crushed chalk and light marine aromas, very ethereal in style compared to the same wine a decade ago. The palate is medium-bodied with gentle grip and flavors blackberry mixed with raspberry, dovetailing into a very tertiary, peppery finish defined (at the moment) by the whole-bunch contribution. This is one that I would cellar for a decade to witness in full flight. - Neal Martin, Vinous Media
A more elegant and slightly cooler nose combines nuances from both the red and dark side of the fruit spectrum along with hints of exotic tea, spice and sandalwood. The vibrant and almost delicate flavors possess a lilting mouthfeel before culminating in a lightly stony reasonably well-balanced finale as the only nit is a minor hint of warmth. - Allen Meadows, Burghound
Deep cherry red. Sweeter red fruit on the nose compared with the Clos d’Eugénie though the cold temperature of the sample makes it less expressive (the cellar is very cold and I am glad to be sitting just outside it). On the palate, this has the depth and fruit sweetness of a riper vintage allied to the super-fine texture of light extraction. A hint of wood on the palate, beautifully balanced and elegant. - Jancis Robinson
