Richer and spicier than the village wine and shows the whole-bunch component. Bramble, suggests Michel Mallard and he’s spot on. Slightly floral. So fragrant. There’s a little more grip but no less finesse and elegance, so fluid you barely see the tannins though they are sufficient. Just slightly peppery as it opens. Beautifully fresh. - Jancis Robinson

Vosne-Village Clos d’Eugenie is a 0.57-ha lieu-dit – and true clos – located just below La Tâche. This is a lovely terroir with influence from the famous grand cru above, and from the Clos Goilotte located just below. The fruit is energetic and vivacious with the generous aromatic profile often found in this part of Vosne – a slight hint of cinnamon and perhaps even a bit of curry. Fine drinkability, offering a light-footed but intense impression. A wine with class! SO - Winehog

Here the expressive nose is at once spicier and a bit more elegant as well with its array of more evident floral influence on the black cherry aromas that are trimmed in a discreet application of wood. The rich and relatively full-bodied flavors possess a velvety texture thanks to the sappy dry extract that also serves to buffer the moderately firm tannic spine shaping the delicious and lingering finish that is slightly firmer. This will need at least a few years of cellaring first and should easily reward up to a decade. - Allen Medows, Burghound
