Fabulous aromas of crushed lemons, stones, yogurt, flan and cooked apples follow through to a full body, round and rich fruit and a flavorful finish. Dense and so long. Fantastic potential. - James Suckling
The 2015 Bienvenues-Bâtard-Montrachet Grand Cru from Faiveley's own holdings opens in the glass with notes of green orchard fruit, lime, pastry cream and vanilla pod, lavishly framed by new oak. On the palate, the wine is full-bodied, glossy and concentrated, with chewy extract and a deep, layered mid-palate, its acids bright and succulent and its finish long. While I'd have appreciated a less overt application of new oak, the wine's substance is as impressive as its equilibrium, so there's much to admire here. - William Kelley, Wine Advocate
This is supple and beautifully balanced, paving the way for apple, lemon cake and baking spice flavors. Fresh and resonant on the long finish. Seems forward, but this should develop nicely over the medium term. Best from 2019 through 2028. - Bruce Sanderson, Wine Spectator
Pale, bright yellow. Expressive aromas of apple, lemon drop and noble herbs. Juicy, supple and suave, showing good spicy lift and restrained sweetness to its citrus and peppery herb flavors. I’m not sure I get grand cru palate presence or depth here but this wine boasts excellent acidity and definition for 2015 and finishes clean and persistent. - Stephen Tanzer, Vinous Media
Reduction presently dominates the underlying fruit though it appears to be ripe. There is both more volume and more power to the medium weight plus flavors that retain good precision on the relatively powerful and solidly persistent finish. This is not exactly classic in style but it’s less 2015 in character than most wines from the vintage. - Allen Meadows, Burghound
