" (50% of a normal crop due to the poor flowering; 50% new oak): Good bright red. Redcurrant, minerals and sweet oak on the reticent nose. Chewy and intense on the palate, with an impression of strong extract to the cherry liqueur and saline flavors. Nicely concentrated, long and aromatic, with suave tannins and no evidence of hail." - Steven Tanzer
"An elegant and pure nose speaks of essence of red berries along with hints of violet, plum and soft earth nuances. There is evident minerality to the detailed and highly energetic middle weight flavors that also display noticeable astringency on the otherwise moderately persistent finish. A wine to drink young." - Allen Meadows, Burghound
