Sexy blueberry, spice and black pepper. Mushroom. Full body and ultra-fine tannins. Extremely long and just starting to come around now. Needs a little more time in bottle. Splendid finish. Try in 2019 but already amazing. - James Suckling
This perfumed red offers aromas of cedar, sage, black currant and oak spice. Vivid acidity drives the complex flavors, with substantial grip on the finish. Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Petit Verdot. Best from 2020 through 2030. 3,000 cases made. - Bruce Sanderson, Wine Spectator
Offers good depth and translucence in the mid-weight style of the year. Grilled herb, lavender, plum, menthol and sage are some of the many nuances that are woven together in this distinctly mid-weight Saffredi. Although a touch slender, as so many wines are in this vintage, the 2014 Saffredi has quite a bit of staying power and overall persistence. As is so often the case with wines from cooler years, time in the glass does wonders here.
