The 2018 Chassagne-Montrachet 1er Cru Les Vergers is one of the highpoints of the portfolio this year, unwinding in the glass with scents of citrus oil, white flowers, green pear and oatmeal. Medium to full-bodied and elegantly textural but lively, it retains tension and grip in this warm vintage. William Kelley – The Wine Advocate
Tasting note: Here the nose flirts with reduction though aggressive swirling liberates the aromas of green fruit, citrus and much more subtle floral nuances. The slightly bigger and richer if somewhat less precise middle weight flavors also possess a relatively refined texture that carries over to the lingering and firm finish. This is perhaps not quite as energetic as the Chenevottes but offers just a bit more overall depth to compensate. Outstanding – Allen Meadows – Burghound
More stony/steely mineral than the village Chassagne with a hint of oak and still lots of bright lemon fruit. Much better depth in the middle compared with the village wine. Worth the premium. Persistent. Julia Harding MW – Jancisrobinson.com
