Medium deep purple, not one of the headiest which is perhaps a good thing. Entirely red fruit, ripe but balanced with just the right acidity. Deep strawberry notes, finely balanced and really stretching out to a lovely finish. Tasted: November 2019 Jasper Morris – Inside Burgundy
Rich and dramatic, the 2018 Gevrey-Chambertin 1er Cru Cherbaudes bursts with aromas of ripe cherries, dark chocolate, plums and cassis, complemented by hints of rose petals and loamy soil. Medium to full-bodied, layered and textural, this is nicely balanced in its gourmand, fleshy style. William Kelley – The Wine Advocate
Cherry in colour and aroma. Sweet and pure fruit on the nose, open and scented. Highly aromatic. On the palate, the structure is really fine boned but just right to shape the fruit. Elegant, long, a fresh beauty. I find it hard to suggest drink dates when the wines are so open and inviting already but they will surely age well? (JH) Julia Harding MW – Jancis Robinson
