The 2015 Vosne-Romanée 1er Cru Aux Malconsorts has a complex and sophisticated bouquet, very elegant in style in keeping with Lamarche's take on the 2015 vintage, with greater underlying mineralité, touches of wild mint and fennel developing in the glass. The palate is medium-bodied with a gentle, grippy entry. This is a classic Malconsorts in many ways, nicely structured, though I would like to see it develop more density and weight on the finish. Still, it is beautifully balanced and the long, spicy note on the aftertaste is entrancing. Neal Martin – The Wine Advocate
The Vosne Romanée Les Malconsorts 2015 is somewhat backward – as Malconsorts often is from cask. The Lamarche Les Malconsorts comes from two plots in the southern end of the vineyard – one at the top and one at the bottom. The bouquet offer layers of red and dark berry fruit – red and dark cherries, strawberries – spiced with violets and Vosne spices. On the palate, more generous with a decadently charming red mid-palate fruit. Very delicate and refined – not a blockbuster Malconsorts. Very Fine+ (94 – 95p) Steen Ohman - Winehog
Tasting note: A menthol top note can be found on the relatively high-toned red currant aromas that are liberally laced with notes of Asian tea, orange peel, hoisin and sandalwood. There is notably more volume and mid-palate concentration to the big-bodied flavors that manage to be at once elegant yet powerful, all wrapped in a very firm, mildly austere and hugely long finale. Excellent quality here but note that patience will be required before this robust effort reaches its apogee. Outstanding - Allen Meadows - Burghound
