Frederic Esmonin Gevrey Chambertin Clos Prieur 2020 (750ML)

ClosPrieur(bas)andJouisearetwolieu-dits(namedvineyards)thatsitkitty-  corner to one another. Although they are very close in proximity to one another, the two vineyards have very different soils and produce very different wines. The Clos Prieur bas vineyard soils are offairly deep clayey, loamy, marl(clay inter-fingered with loam coming up from the Saone valley floor, all mixed with broken limestone that has moved from upslope vineyards, sitting over a Comblanchien Limestone base .Esmonin produces a very pure, strawberry-cherry scented wine from Clos Prieur that is elegant and full of finesse.
