Four plots from across the village, north and south. Deep soil in Chalandins and Ormes, on the clay, while to the south Réas and Jacquines are racier, with less depth, so the blend is best. This is certainly very complete and the deep red fruit grows at the back, with some helpful tannins. Middleweight but pleasingly balanced. 50% whole bunch. Jasper Morris – Inside Burgundy
Note: a quatrain is a poetic device consisting of a stanza with 4 lines, which alludes to the fact that there are 4 lieux-dits in this blend: Aux Réas, Les Jacquines, Les Chalandins and Aux Ormes, the idea being to blend two vineyards from the southern end of the commune with two from the northern end
Tasting note: This too is very fresh and restrained with its softly spicy but overtly floral array of poached plum and exotic tea nuances. There is fine density and power to the vibrant and even robust medium-bodied flavors that offer very good depth and persistence though with limited refinement. Allen Meadows – Burghound
The 2018 Vosne-Romanée "Quatrain" is a blend of four vineyards (hence the name) that sees 50% whole-cluster fruit. It replaces the Vosne Village, in case you are looking for that. The bouquet is very pure and refined with dark cherries, raspberry coulis and light iodine aromas. The palate is silky smooth on the entry with fleshy red fruit. Quite sweet but not overbearing. The orange-sorbet-tinged red fruit is laced with white pepper toward the long finish. This is worth seeking out. Neal Martin – Vinous Media
