A more muscular, deeper-pitched expression of the commune, the 2017 Chambolle-Musigny 1er Cru Les Baudes offers up lovely aromas of red cherries, raw cocoa, espresso roast, grilled squab and forest floor. On the palate, it's medium to full-bodied, deep and layered, with a broad-shouldered chassis of fine but firm structuring tannins, beautiful purity of fruit and a long, penetrating finish. It's a stunning wine in the making, but patience will be required. William Kelley – The Wine Advocate
Rich red purple colour. Here we are back to full succulence. And a little riper fruit with some black raspberry aspects, excellent balancing acidity, some gracious oak too. Fills the mouth really well without losing energy. Juicy and balanced. Tasted: November 2018. Jasper Morris – Inside Burgundy
Tasting note: A fresh and relatively airy array is composed by notes of both red and dark berries along with a range of pretty floral and spice elements. There is excellent size, weight and volume to the tautly muscular and powerful flavors that culminate in a highly energetic finish that delivers impressive depth and persistence. This is a robust Baudes and one that will definitely require patience. Outstanding – Allen Meadows - Burghound
