The 2018 Chambolle-Musigny 1er Cru Les Baudes was showing especially well, revealing aromas of cherries, cassis, grilled squab and spices, followed by a medium to full-bodied, deep and multidimensional palate that's muscular and concentrated, carrying an abundance of ripe tannin and underpinned by lively acids. This is one of the broader-shouldered wines in the cellar, and one senses its proximity to Bonnes Mares. Of course, that also means that it will require patience. William Kelley – The Wine Advocate
Rich deep purple, with a sensual oak aspect to the ripe fruit. One new barrel in 4 though they aim for 20% if possible. Some oak tannins, fresher fruit otherwise throughout, and respectable length. Quite tight for the moment. Jasper Morris – Inside Burgundy
The 2018 Chambolle-Musigny Les Baudes 1er Cru has a well-defined bouquet of dark cherries, bergamot and touches of sous-bois – one of the most transparent from the domaine this year. The palate is quite strict and very mineral-driven, with an almost stoic and correct finish. There is something Morey-like about this Baudes. One for those seeking a bit more reserve in this vintage.
