Tasting note: A more restrained nose grudgingly reveals the essence of plum where additional breadth is present in the form of black raspberry and violet scents. The 2018 Chambolle-Musigny Les Charmes 1er Cru has a wonderful bouquet of vibrant wild strawberry, cranberry and raspberry fruit that has a spring in its step. The medium-bodied palate offers ripe red fruit laced with tangerine and marmalade, and a little spice toward the finish, which is well defined with a slight confit aftertaste. Lovely.
