The 2017 Chambolle-Musigny 1er Cru Les Cras unfurls in the glass with a youthfully reticent bouquet of raspberries, cherries, rose petal and orange rind. On the palate, the wine is medium to full-bodied, satiny-textured and multidimensional, with stunning depth and concentration at the core, mouthwatering acids and a searingly intense, mineral finish. This is a stunning Cras from a masterful winemaker at the peak of her powers. William Kelley – The Wine Advocate
Les Cras is competing with Les Fuées for top spot this year. It shows perhaps a fraction less density but a little more energy. Fine rich purple. Ripe red fruit infused with a little bit of black, this is a very complete wine with impeccable density and perfect balance, finishing off with the freshness of the vintage. Crisp raspberry notes at the back. Tasted: November 2018. Jasper Morris – Inside Burgundy
Tasting note: Interestingly this is aromatically quite similar to the Véroilles if perhaps just a bit more elegant and layered. The racy, intense and overtly mineral-driven medium weight flavors possess almost painful punch along with chiseled delineation on the austere, serious and compact yet superbly long finish. This very firm effort is not seductive or especially refined at present but the power and drive are most impressive. Sweet Spot Outstanding – Allen Meadows - Burghound
