The 2017 Chambolle-Musigny Les Fuées 1er Cru has an open-knit bouquet of red cherries, kirsch, orange zest and quince aromas, with notes of tobacco and sous-bois. The palate is medium-bodied with fine tannin, touches of meat juices permeating red fruit that merges with darker fruit on the gently gripping, beautifully focused finish. The domaine’s best in show this year? Quite possibly. Neal Martin – Vinous Media

Wonderfully rich purple. This wine takes time but is clearly going to be impressive from the very first sniff. Another register here after tasting the first eight 1ers crus in the line-up!. Sublime intensity, beautiful acidity behind, a redcurrant note to otherwise blackcurrant fruit. The drier uphill style with mid slope intensity. Excellent! Five barrels made. Tasted: November 2018. Jasper Morris – Inside Burgundy

Aromas of wild plums, cassis and ripe cherries mingling with savory bass notes and a touch of new oak in an incipiently complex bouquet introduce the 2017 Chambolle-Musigny 1er Cru Les Fuées, a medium to full-bodied wine with excellent concentration and an ample chassis of fine but firm, chalky tannins that was among the most reserved in the Barthod cellar when I tasted it. That reserve, however, holds great promise for the future, as this gives every indication of being a superb Fuées in the making. William Kelley – The Wine Advocate

Tasting note: A slightly more deeply pitched nose that includes notes of dark raspberry and plum is at once spicier and a bit more floral in character as well. There is fine volume and punch to the dense and powerful yet seductively textured medium-bodied flavors that brim with both dry extract and an almost pungent minerality on the highly complex and beautifully persistent finish. Terrific. Sweet Spot Outstanding – Allen Meadows - Burghound
