Blackberry and blueberry aromas with dried mushroom and wet earth. It’s medium-to full-bodied with ultra fine tannins and a salty and minerally undertone to the dark fruit. Spices at the end. Very well done from here. - James Suckling
Carefully managed black fruits, the Cabernet Franc plays a dominant role in the aromatics, with raspberry, redcurrant and even a few traces of crab apple. Well-managed acidity and tannic balance, this feels careful and fruit focused, not as exuberant as in some past years. New director, who began as a cellar hand with the group 20 years ago, called Bertrand Arpin. SO2 reduced during fermentation and ageing, plus 10% aged in amphora with no added SO2 at all.
