This is really nicely crafted with a solid core of juicy dark fruit. Hints of cedar and vanilla. Chocolate, too. It’s full-bodied with a long, focused finish. Extremely well crafted. - James Suckling
The Merlot-dominated 2019 Château Grand Corbin is a solid-looking barrel sample and has a big bouquet of assorted red and darker, earthy fruits, spicy oak, and leafy herbs. Nicely textured, medium-bodied, and elegant on the palate, it's another terrific 2019 that just glides across the palate with no sensation of weight or heaviness. This is a brilliant wine I'd be happy to have in the cellar. Tasted twice.- Jeb Dunnuck
Once again the feeling here is that this is a less gourmet vintage than 2018, but that it has a lot to recommend - juice, balance, plenty of black fruits, good firm tannins, touches of austerity. On this corner of St Emilion the soils are different from most of the appellation, with clay, sand and gravel, giving the power that you feel through the heart of this wine, and the fresh acidity that pulls things up through the finish.
