Guiraud 2003 Ex-Chateau (750ML)

I might have a slight preference for this over the 2001 but I can’t make up my mind yet. It seems to have more richness and sweetness, with loads of apple tart, caramel and spice character. The noble rot certainly did its good here. Long, long finish. Beautiful sweet wine. Drink or hold. - James Suckling

Full yellow-gold. Musky aromas of exotic apricot liqueur, baking spices, toffee and smoke. Supersweet and unctuous, but with its glyceral texture cut by bright acids. The exotic apricot flavor is nicely complemented by coconut, vanilla and caramel. Finishes very long and juicy. Deep copper. Strange coconut and coffee notes (a wood rather than fruit thing presumably). Very very big and sweet - massive unctuosity. Still that coconut streak that slightly worries me but this would be deeply satisfying as a sweet drink. Fresh, clean on the finish. Long, a bit heavy.
