90 Points Wine Enthusiast: Key lime and fresh cut Gala apples meet with the spiciness of lemongrass on the nose of this bottling from Nicky Hahn and winemaker Paul Clifton. The palate shows a pithy texture, with honeydew melon, Asian pear and lemon cake.

“We produce our Hahn SLH Chardonnay entirely in the Santa Lucia Highlands where we grow the grapes in our own vineyards, choose the best fruit, hand-stir the wine on the lees every three weeks for 12 months, and then age the wine in French oak barrels in our cellar before bottling it on site.”  This Hahn SLH Chardonnay is rich and layered, with silky notes of peach, nectarine, ripe pear and vanilla. Its rich taste profile results from our winemakers selecting fruit that yields the most expressive aromas and flavors.  After the fruit is carefully sorted, the grapes are whole-cluster pressed and fermented entirely in small, French oak barrels.  We then hand-stir the wine on the lees every week for the 12 months this wine rests in barrel.  When the wine is ready to be bottled, we choose the barrels we feel best exemplified the aromas, flavors and structure of the Santa Lucia Highlands.” -Winery
