Note: from a vine density equivalent of 30,000 vines/ha
Tasting note: This is aromatically similar to the Tremblots Haute Densité but with slightly less floral influence but more mineral reduction. On the palate there is superb intensity and delineation to the succulent but powerful, stony and linear finish that is even more tightly wound. This is a 'buy and forget you own it' wine that is an absolute knockout. If you can find a bottle or two, don't hesitate. Outstanding.--Allen Meadows, Burghound
Aromas of crisp green orchard fruit, citrus zest, apple blossom and sweet stones introduce the 2021 Saint-Aubin 1er Cru Derrière Chez Edouard Haute Densité, a medium to full-bodied, satiny and complete wine that's layered and harmonious, with a cool core of fruit that's girdled by racy acids, concluding with a long, saline finish. Yields here were 22 hectoliters per hectare, with a planting density of up to 30,000 vines per hectare. As ever, this will really demand a decade of patience to reveal its full potential.-William Kelley, The Wine Advocate
The vine density is a mix of 30,000 vines per hectare, with some at 20,000. Pure pale lemon. There is a sense of intensity, a cleaner fruit than Les Tremblots HD. This builds and builds on the palate, with a steadily building pure white fruit. Dancing fruit, perfectly judged ripeness, the thread of acidity throughout and brilliant persistence. Drink from 2027-2034.-Jasper Morris, Inside Burgundy
