Burnt butter, creme brulee and caramel, dried apricots, bread dough, bread crust, biscuit and dried peaches. More mineral than other bottlings from this producer, this full-bodied Champagne nevertheless packs in so much concentration and depth. Amazing, burnt-caramel and white-stone undertones, reminiscent of fino Sherry. Very long indeed. Drink now or hold. Disgorged 26th October 2018. James Suckling
Minerality, minerality and minerality. Thats what comes to mind in Selosses NV Brut V.O. (Version Originale), a wine that dazzles from the very first taste. Totally alive and wonderfully nuanced in the glass, the V.O. boasts crystalline purity and tons of finesse. The aromas and flavors are beautifully defined. Today, the V.O. is firing on all cylinders. Hints of dried fruits, smoke, tobacco and anise linger on the finish, but ultimately the V.O. is a wine of pure texture. Readers who can find the V.O. should not hesitate. It is magnificent! Antonio Galloni, Vinous Media
The latest releases of the NV Blanc de Blancs Grand Cru V. O. (Version Originale), like its "Initial" counterpart, is derived from the 2012, 2011 and 2010 vintages and was disgorged in December 2018. As usual, it's produced from the higher-altitude, chalkier parts of Avize, Cramant and Oger, where yields are naturally around a third lower. Offering up notes of dried white flowers, peach, waxy citrus rind and honeycomb, the wine is full-bodied, chalky and tensile, with more tension and concentration than the Initial, revealing a tighter-knit, more structured core and a long, stony finish. - William Kelley, Wine Advocate
