The cherry, blackberry and plum flavors are reserved in this burly red, showing plenty of structure. Floral and oak spice accents add depth as this remains defined on the long finish. Be patient. Best from 2023 through 2040. From France. - BS, Wine Spectator Insider Hot Wine.
The 2017 Echézeaux Grand Cru has a very precise bouquet, a little introverted at first, that features a mixture of red and black fruit and seems to grow in the glass. The palate is medium-bodied with touches of tobacco and graphite lacing the dark plum and blackberry fruit. Very harmonious and long in the mouth, displaying a touch of brine toward the long finish. Excellent. Neal Martin – Vinous Media
Tasting note: A beautifully spicy nose consists primarily of the cool essence of red cherry, currant and lavender. There is a succulent and caressing mouthfeel to the sleek and relatively supple medium weight flavors that possess excellent punch on the lingering and youthfully austere finish that really fans out as it sits on the palate. There is a hint of warmth but overall this firm effort remains quite well-balanced. Allen Meadows - Burghound
