Hardly any earth here: even though it is lower on the slope it is right on the rock. A brilliant rich deep purple, ripe fruit yet with an elegance that is missing from the Morgeot. It has that Côte de Nuits feel to it, violets as well as peonies, dense dark red fruit, avoiding the earthy tannins. Long and fine. Tasted: October 2017.—4 stars. –Jasper Morris, Inside Burgundy
