This is naturally more elegant with a high-toned nose of red cherry, raspberry and soft earth aromas that are trimmed in a top note of menthol. The admirably pure middle weight flavors possess a tautly muscular mouthfeel while displaying fine precision on the tension-filled, balanced and lengthy finish. This excellent effort is robust but not really rustic and is definitely worth your interest. Allen Meadows – Burghound
The 2015 Gevrey-Chambertin Clos Prieur Bas offers up aromas of rose petal, red cherry and wild berries, as well as bass notes of coniferous forest floor. On the palate, the wine is the most multidimensional and ample of Roty's lieux-dits, but also the most tensile and mineral, its tannins fine-grained, its fruit pure, and its finish sappy and long. - WK, Wine Advocate
